The Super Bowl is back at Levi’s Stadium. And while the injury-riddled 49ers aren’t partaking in the 2026 Super Bowl in their home stadium, there is still plenty to celebrate as the Super Bowl brings plenty of fun events leading up to the game day on Feb. 8.
While the Super Bowl brings various events around the Bay Area, this article will focus on the free events partnered with Bay Area Host Communities (BAHC).
Festivities begin early to celebrate the big game around the Bay Area, as Fan Photo opportunities begin Jan. 21, and run up until Super Bowl Sunday. Locations include: the Harry Bridges Plaza, the Ferry Terminal Plaza (SF), the San Francisco International Airport, San Jose County airport, Pier 39, Capital Corridor (at Emeryville transit station), and around the city of Santa Clara and SFMOMA (location for the BAHC Super Bowl 60 Innovation Summit).
Events beginning on Feb. 2, include the Super Bowl opening night at the San Jose Convention Center. For fans interested in attending this year’s Super Bowl grand opening night, there will be an opportunity to listen to the players and coaches from both the AFC & NFC teams.
Also starting and continuing through Feb. 7, the Super Bowl Media center is open at the Moscone Center. Including various sponsors and partner booths of the Super Bowl week, within the center, the west building is promoted as the “central hub for the media center, press conference, and media, having credentialed journalists, including digital, print, and radio broadcasters.”
On Feb. 3, the Pro Bowl Games will also be held at the Moscone Center. The event will include an annual AFC vs NFC flag football game and athletic competitions. Advertising to “transform (the south building of the Moscone) into a dynamic flag football arena”.
Celebrating both Chinese New Year and the Super Bowl in the Bay Area, BeChinatown Night Market is producing the Chinatown Lunar New Year Block Party on Grant Ave in SF on Feb. 4. Local small businesses, cultural performances, music, and community together for the celebration of the year of the Horse. Live performances of traditional lion dancing, breakdancers, and AAPI musical artists, as well as panels with AAPI prominent chefs, athletes and journalists.
Feb. 5 brings the NFL Honors to the Bay, which will be hosted at the Palace of Fine Arts in SF. In an event where the NFL recognizes standout athletes and their achievements from this season; it will also feature live entertainment and special guest appearances.
Origins: An NFL Collection Launch Event at the NFL Culture Club, will take place at the Pearl in SF on Feb. 5. This event will be a collaboration among three different brands with unique ties to the Bay Area. The brands include: Aaron De La Cruz, BLVCK SCVLE (Black Scale), and Nostalgia. Each brand has created limited-edition Super Bowl 60-branded merchandise. This event does require an RSVP, available to acquire on everbrite.com.
While also happening from Feb. 5 until the night before the Super Bowl, the Ferry Building will be providing a projection show with interactive opportunities for fans in attendance. The show will illustrate and highlight the last 60 years of the history of the Super Bowl.
Lastly, on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 8) BAHC will be hosting the official Bay Area Super Bowl Watch Party. Taking place at Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts, in Oakland; while an RSVP is required to join the indoor watch party, the outdoor Fan Zone is free to attend. The outdoor event will include various musical performances, local food and beverage vendors; all in a vibrant, family friendly experience in the heart of the town.
