As Fall 2025 ramps up, Chabot College students planning to transfer for Spring 2026 need to act fast. The CSU priority application deadline is August 31st, and students applying to UC campuses through TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) must submit their UC Transfer Planner between September 1st and 30th.

To support students through this process, Chabot’s Transfer Center has been offering drop-in counseling and application support in Building 700, second floor, rooms 761 through 758, near the elevator. Earlier sessions on Monday, August 25th and Wednesday, August 27th helped kick off the transfer season, and the momentum continues with more opportunities to get help.

Students can still drop in on Monday, September 22nd from 1:30–4:30 PM, Monday, September 29th from 11:30 AM–4:00 PM, and Wednesday, October 1st from 1:30–6:30 PM. These sessions are led by Counselor Mark, who’s been guiding students through CSU and UC applications, reviewing planners, and helping them hit submit with confidence.

Whether you’re stuck on your major, confused by CalStateApply, or just need someone to double-check your planner, this is your chance to get personalized help. The Transfer Center’s computer lab is open, and counselors are ready to guide you through every step.

I caught up with Aaron Urbee Tennie, a track and field athlete at Chabot, who shared his experience attending one of the workshops

“Yes, Chabot gave me the resources in this workshop to move me forward because I was really stuck getting an application to go through until I got real physical help during one of the workshops.”
When asked how he found out about it, he said,
“Through professors and the Chabot event calendar.”

I also sat down with Transfer Counselor Rozen Bondoc who broke down what the Transfer Center is really about.

“We strive to make the application process less intimidating and user-friendly,” Bondo said. “It’s overwhelming with all the deadlines and details, but we’re here to reduce anxiety and guide students through it.”

Bondo emphasized that students can find workshop info on the Chabot Transfer Center website and Instagram by searching “Chabot Transfer Center.”

“We also connect students with university reps if they have specific questions. We’re here to help with every step of the academic journey.”

When asked what message she had for students who procrastinate or avoid showing up, Bondo didn’t hesitate

“Check out our transfer checklist it lays out what to do each month. And if nothing else, visit the Transfer Center once a month so we know where you’re at and can guide you.”

I even asked her for a few words of motivation she said,

“If you have a dream school, go for it. Don’t let the application process stop you. When you reach out to us, you’ll see it’s not as impossible as it seems.”

As I write this, I’ve been doing my best to get my transfer application together. I’m aiming for San Francisco State in Fall 2026, but honestly, I’ve been struggling to figure out where to go for real support. That changed when I came across the workshop dates and descriptions from Chabot’s Transfer Center. There are reps here who can actually help but it’s on us, as students, to take that first step and show up. No one’s going to do it for us. You’ve got to put that right foot forward and make it happen.

This is your moment to shine. The Transfer Center’s computer lab is open, the help is real, and the deadlines are coming fast. Don’t sleep on this and don’t wait until it’s too late. Your future depends on it.
