When you think about the campus food here at Chabot, you think of there are some healthy options but there really isn’t much. As I talk with multiple students many of whom said that they just eat the food options because Chabot has them, not because they are healthier for them.

Eamom Hogerfe, a Chabot College student said that, “I eat the food at Chabot because I enjoy it and because I was hungry, but I have only had it a couple of times.” He also said that it taste healthy to him. This shows that some students just eat the food but don’t really think about what they are putting into their bodies. When I asked him on if what he would like if there were healthier opinons he said, “Some sort of fresh rice bowl with fresh foods would be great.”

Keira Tan, another student claimed,“I’ve never had it but I’ve seen people eat it and it really doesn’t look that good.” This also tells that some students would like the food to not only look better but to have everyday good ingredients that are fresh and healthy

Mijee Kang, the general manager for the Chabot College cafeteria remarked,“e have been preparing fresh meals here at Chabot for on the go.” She also said that, “In the service area, I’m hoping for a salad bar in the near future.” This shows that she is willing to make changes in order for Chabot staff and students to have the best food as possible.

Especially because of all of the fried food options that Chabot has, getting some healthier food in the cafeteria is a great sign. There also so many different new healthy options this year such as grilled chicken and some prepacked salads. This new and upcoming change for the future at Chabot is great because it gives more of a variety for the staff and students. It also expands the range of food for vegetarians and vegans which is always great. Looking towards the future for Chabot College more healthy meals and a variety for students and staff is great and so many people are looking forward to it.
