Gladiators Fall Short in Coalinga 28-7

Keshon Miller. \\ September 22, 2025.
The Chabot Gladiators hit the road hard Saturday
hoping to build momentum after losing to Merced, but instead ran into a wall of missed chances
and stalled drives, falling 28–7 to Coalinga College.
After a slow start and a missed field goal in the first quarter, Chabot gained some life midway
through the second. With running back Isaiah Limcolioc breaking free for a dazzling 68-yard
touchdown run his second carry of the game cutting the deficit to 14–7 and injecting energy into
the sideline. Limcolioc finished with 73 yards on just two attempts, averaging a blistering 36.5
yards per carry.
But that spark soon faded. Chabot’s offense kept struggling to sustain drives, converting just 2
of 13 third downs and failing on their lone fourth-down attempt. Quarterbacks Christian Rapis
and Daniel Parsons combined for 102 passing yards, with Rapis going 8-for-11 and hitting a
long of 43 yards to Jalen Frenchwood, who led all Chabot receivers with 55 yards on three
catches.
Tariq Ford carried the bulk of the rushing load with 21 attempts for 63 yards, but the offense
couldn’t quite find rhythm. Chabot totaled 240 yards of offense compared to Coalinga’s 375, and
the time of possession battle tilted away from the Gladiators, 27:54 to 32:06.
Defensively, Salesi Moala and Gerardo Zavala Rangel led the charge with 9 and 8 total tackles .
Esaia Vavao and JJ Sporleder each recorded sacks, and Kali Moa snagged an interception to
give Chabot a chance to flip momentum. But the offense couldn’t capitalize.
Special teams had their moments as well. Elijah Ferrell Ayers returned four kickoffs for 58 yards,
and Tyrell Johnson added a 25-yard punt return but field position alone wasn’t enough.
The Gladiators now look ahead to regroup and refocus to get a win against De Anza at home on
the 27th at 6PM. Let’s hope for a bounce back week, GO GLADSSSS!!!!!!
