Eight games into the season Chabot’s womens soccer team holds a record of 5-2-1 while having scored a total of 25 goals, averaging just over three a game.
Chabot’s leading scorers, #26 Kiana Ayllon, has nine goals to her name, while #6 Abigail Lopez, has scored seven.
This game begins a mid-season homestand for the Glads, scheduled to play three in a row at home; first versus Las Positas (LP). While also starting their conference games, against their rivals, Chabot is looking to even up the series this season after previously losing to LP on Sept. 12.
The Gladiators came out firing, scoring a goal before the six minute mark. Ayllon opened the scoring, assisted by Lopez.
Yet, It only took a single opportunity for LP to make a difference. Where in the second half, they were granted a free kick right outside Chabot’s box; LP evened up the score 1-1.
A tough game, as expected with a rivalry game. After losing both matches last season, there is improvement to be appreciated as Chabot rolls onward.

Closing out September, the last five games for Chabot resulted in two wins, two draws and only one loss.
At the mid season mark, we continue to be amazed by the dazzling talent Chabot has on the pitch. #26 Ayllon is Chabot’s leading goal scorer this season with 10 goals. While #6 Lopez, is the teams assist leader and second in team goals.
Against Foothill on Oct 3, the second conference game of the season and of the three game home stand. The Glads will want to build on last season, where they beat Foothill in a close 1-0 margin.
The game went on to have a scorless first half. Chabot broke onto the scoreboard first with Ayllon adding to her team leading goal tally, assisted once again by Lopez.
#11 Keyla Ramirez scored, by yet another assist from Lopez. In an impressive second half effort, after every gladiator goal Foothill replied with one of their own, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Both teams saved their scoring for the second half, making this a great match up worth waiting for the final whistle.

The Glads have now tied back-to-back games to start off the conference series, and move on to face De Anza.
The goals started as Chabot’s #3 Ashley Tinoco scored from a great assist by #8 Wendy Son-Garcia; going into the half 1-0.
In the second half, the Glads added to their lead, #4 Alexa Perez was assisted by Lopez. While finally in the last quarter of the game, Lopez scored on an assist from Ayllon. The final score 3-0 Chabot.
11 games in, officially over the half point mark of the season, the Glads have scored 31 total goals (entire ‘24-25 season: 38). After a tough, undefeated homestand to start to their conference schedule, only eight games remain for Chabot.
The Women’s soccer team, faces Cañada in their penultimate scheduled home game. Coming off a crushing defeat against Community College of San Francisco (ranked 5th in state); Chabot now moves onto another tough opponent in Cañada, ranked #11 in state before this game.
Wanting to shake off their first loss since going on a five game undefeated streak, the Glad’s look towards their stars to continue to shine. In a contested first half, it went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
The second half began with plenty of press from Cañada, and with a dangerous cross into Chabot’s box, it quickly became 1-0 to the visitors. With their one goal lead, Cañada seemed comfortable in sitting back to defend and wait for the final whistle.

For the first time this season, the Glads took back-to-back loses. A formidable schedule, as in the last three games Chabot has faced multiple teams ranked in the top-15 in state.
Throughout 17 games, the Gladiators scored an outstanding 41 goals. Currently on a three-game winning streak, Chabot will need all its momentum going into their last home game against the #12 (state) ranked Hartnell on Nov. 11.
Hartnell also comes into the game 7-0 in conference games. An undefeated juggernaut, for a great final test for the Glads hoping to make a playoff push.
The first minutes of this game were full of the opposing team exemplifying their dominance in possession. Hartnell had such an early forward press, their back line was lingering at half pitch at most times.
But none it discouraged our fierce Gladiators, as they broke though first. Ayllon, blazed by the defense and scored, making it 1-0. Hartnell however, quickly responded with such a strong shot against the goalkeeper, it bounced off their hands and into the net. Tying the game 1-1, all before the quarter mark.
Hartnell continued their press throughout the first-half, scoring on a corner kick, making it 2-1. Yet, right before halftime an amazing through-ball found Ayllon again who tied the game 2-2.
A back and forth affair, it wasn’t until Hartnell regained momentum, taking a crack from range and scoring; 3-2.
With little time left and Chabot struggling to take advantage of their few chances, another score from Hartnell closed the curtain on what was a well played final home against a resilient opponent, final 4-2.

The last scheduled game for Chabot came on Nov. 14, at West Valley. In a victorious 4-1 game to close out the season for the Gladiators, they finish the season 10-5-4 overall.

An inspiring Nov 19, as in the first time in 16 years our women’s soccer team played their first postseason game. The first round of the 3C2A women’s NorCal Regional playoffs, Chabots record awarded them the #14 seed. Hosting this first game against #19 Reedley (14-7-1), the winner will go onto the second round, vs a dominate #3 seed San Francisco (15-2-2) on Nov 22.
A determined Chabot began this game with high intensity. Showcasing an early high press, all while constantly knocking at the door of Reedley, awaiting just one shot to provide an opening.
Chabot provided fantastic defensive work throughout the game, as their whole defensive line made it an emphasis to stay vigilant and involved. #2 Nyarah Anderson-Brown, in particular, was a relentless defender, smothering the opponents all over the pitch.
Great effort by the Glads, a very competitive first half ended 0-0.
The start of the second half came with a high press by the opposing team, dominating the first 20 minutes of possession. It wasn’t until the last quarter of regulation, Chabot reignited and regained momentum, reapplying pressure with the opposing team dropping back.
A full 90-minutes was not enough time for either team to breakthrough the deadlock, as the excitement continues with the competitors going into overtime. A gritty competition in OT, remained scoreless. Taking this terrific first round of the playoffs to penalty kicks.
A rarity of a final, with over two hours of gametime, a conclusion of soccer prowess, saw the visitors drastically pull through. A penalty shootout ending 4-3, and the Gladiator’s historic season.
