She then changed her last name to Keaton and moved to Manhattan to become an actor starting off in theater. Her first major role was in a production of Hair(1968) where she gained notoriety for refusing to disrobe at the end of Act 1 when the cast would perform nude. Her performance in the play is the first time both Woody Allen and Francis Ford Coppola would see her. In her career that has spanned 5 decades she has won an Oscar, BAFTA, 2 Golden Globes, 2 Emmys, and a Tony Award.
